Scholarships

Funding your study abroad.

Scholarships rarely cover everything, but even a partial award lowers the cost. Here are the main types — and how we help you find the live ones you're eligible for.

Types of funding

Where the money comes from.

Merit scholarships

Awarded for strong academics, test scores or achievements.

University bursaries

Tuition waivers and grants, often automatic with your offer.

Need-based aid

For families with limited income, mainly in the US and parts of Europe.

Government schemes

National awards like Chevening or Erasmus+ — competitive but valuable.

Assistantships

Teaching/research roles that waive fees (mostly postgraduate).

External scholarships

Private trusts and foundations offering education grants.

By destination

What each country tends to offer.

CountryCommon scholarship types
CanadaEntrance/merit awards, university bursaries, some provincial schemes
AustraliaUniversity merit scholarships, limited govt awards
UKUniversity scholarships, Chevening (govt, competitive)
USAMerit aid, assistantships (mainly postgraduate), need-based aid
EuropeErasmus+, country & university scholarships, low/no tuition options

Indicative only — amounts and eligibility change every intake. We help you find and apply to the scholarships that are actually open to you.

Watch out for scholarship scams. No genuine scholarship asks for a fee to “release” it or guarantees an award for money. If someone promises a guaranteed scholarship for an upfront payment, walk away.
